DCP MIDSTREAM PRESENTS $20,000 IN NATIONAL EMPLOYEE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

Release date: 5/12/2014

Eight outstanding students are recipients of this year’s DCP Midstream Employee Scholarship. These high school seniors, who are children of DCP employees, will each receive the $2,500 Employee Scholarship for their full-time studies at an accredited institution of their choice.

“We’re thrilled that DCP can play a supporting role contributing to these students’ academic and career goals,” said Roz Elliott, vice president of public affairs and investor relations. “Not only does their achievement reflect their personal initiative and effort, but also it says a lot about the support they have received from their family and community in nurturing their development. That’s a lot to celebrate.”

Since 2004, DCP Midstream, LLC has assisted more than 60 DCP families with student scholarships totaling more than a half million dollars as a way to invest in the community, employees and the country’s future workforce.
“The employee scholarship program is one way we support education to encourage the next generation to be able to achieve their goals,” Elliott said. “We also provide technical energy scholarships annually to students going back to school or seeking their first role. And we are playing a much bigger role in supporting veterans returning to the workforce.”

The 2014 recipients in the DCP Midstream Employee Scholarship Program are:

Briana Egger, majoring in biology at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

McKenzey Hanna, majoring in apparel and textiles at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

Kaitlyn King, pre-med at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma.

Kevin Olson, majoring in petroleum engineering at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.

Zachary Ratkus, majoring in mechanical engineering at The Ohio State University.

Bailey Reistad, studying nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler in Tyler, Texas.

Beau Harrison Srader, majoring in health and physical education at a university of his choice.

Connor Whiteside, majoring in chemical engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Scholarships are renewable up to three years and are awarded on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and future aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
